As you’re probably aware, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This morning (10/2/23) I shared my story of a scary test result of my own, plus my mom’s experience with the disease.
There’s the feeling that you should always share your own story, because you never know who you might inspire. You might inspire someone to join the fight against breast cancer with a donation, or to schedule their mammogram, or to volunteer.
I invited anyone who wanted to share their own story to call. One listener, Jolene, rose to the occasion and shared hers. Perhaps it will inspire you as much as it inspired me.
Jolene and her mom’s cancer fund can be found here on Facebook.
