Cheap Trick Releasing Christmas Album

Cheap Trick plans to release a Christmas album around Halloween this year, according to bassist Tom Petersson.  This album would be the band’s third LP in the last two years, which included 2016’s Bang, Zoom, Crazy… Hello and this year’s We’re All Alright!  In his interview with Orange Amps, the bassist said that the band’s goal is to release at least one album every year.

Petersson jokingly said in the interview, “The only confusing thing about recording this record is that every song had the word Christmas in it, so we could never keep it straight during recording, trying to figure out which song was which: ‘Okay, guys, so let’s do the Christm…… the sleigh song next.’”

The album will consist of a mix of originals and Christmas standards. A cover of Roy Wood’s 1973 song I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday is the only track listing that has been confirmed.

Cheap Trick is in the middle of their extensive tour which runs all the way through November.  They will be playing Darien Lake on July 21 along with Foreigner.
