If you’re a Pink Floyd fan like I am, this is dreamy.
There’s a solo guitar track from the album “Animals” you may not have heard, because it was only released on the 8-track version.
On other formats, the album begins with “Pigs on the Wing Part 1” and ends with Part 2. To make the album flow better on the 8-track version, the two parts were combined and linked with a solo, making a single track…but ONLY on the 8-track version.
8-tracks obviously played differently than records, cassette tapes and CDs (CDs didn’t even exist in the 70s!) so they made it work. Since 8-tracks went out of print, it remained lost…until the internet came along.
