Peter Frampton Loses Temper at Concert

While opening for the Steve Miller Band in Minnesota on Sunday night, guitarist Peter Frampton cut his performance short after an incident involving one of his cameramen.

During one of Frampton’s guitar solos, the camera zoomed in on a woman holding her Peter Frampton vinyl records she brought to the show (Frampton Comes Alive!, I’m In You). After the fan received a large applause for holding up the albums, Frampton leaned into the camera and said an expletive.  Frampton and his band left the stage moments later out of anger.  After cooling down for about 10 minutes, Frampton reemerged onstage and finished his concert with the video screens turned off.
This is not the first incident involving Frampton and technology at one of his concerts.  Back in 2014, Frampton was accused of grabbing a fan’s cell phone and throwing it into the crowd to protest recording video at concerts.  “When I go to do a show, it’s my time,” Frampton said. “It’s all about me. You’ve come to see me. You haven’t come to see me if you’re in an armchair watching a video. It’s very distracting.”

Peter Frampton posted a Facebook post apologizing for the incident.
