Grateful Dead Concert Hitting Theaters

Just in time for late-musician Jerry Garcia’s birthday, the Grateful Dead are celebrating by screening their previously unseen Washington D.C concert.  On August 1, 450 theatres from around the country will be showing the Grateful Dead’s concert from July 12, 1989 at RFK stadium in Washington D.C.

The Grateful Dead’s Meet-Up at the movies began in 2011 when the band screened The Grateful Dead Movie, which focused on four days of concert footage from their 1974 performances at the Winterland Arena.  It has continued each year with the release of a different set of concert footage from the band’s archives.

Dead & Company, the band that consists of former Grateful Dead members along with John Mayer just finished up their 2017 Summer Tour.
