Bob Dylan Sings Sinatra, Again

dylan-fallen-angels

Every song on Bob Dylan’s new album Fallen Angels features songs that were recorded by Frank Sinatra at some point in time.  This coincides with Dylan’s last album, Shadows in the Night, which had the same concept.  But, Dylan does not view these as ‘Frank Sinatra cover albums’, but rather sees them as rediscovering great songs.  Dylan said in a statement, “I don’t see myself as covering these songs in any way. They’ve been covered enough. Buried, as a matter a fact. What me and my band are basically doing is uncovering them. Lifting them out of the grave and bringing them into the light of day.” After 50+ years of making music and 37 albums later, he is still trying new things and helping to recognize great music.  The album came out on May 20th and has received very positive reviews.  Dylan will be on tour throughout the summer, making a stop at Artpark on June 30th.
