Heather’s Bailey’s Cone Shots

heather perry (600)I came up with a delicious recipe for your next adult gathering!

(Of course, you can skip the Bailey’s part and make virgin ones for the kids too!)

Here’s what you’ll need:

A pack of 24 ice cream cones with a flat bottom Vanilla or Chocolate ice cream Bailey’s Irish Cream Liqueur Rainbow or Chocolate Sprinkles Smucker’s Magic Shell (Vanilla or Chocolate)

  • 1 Can of Whipped Cream (Redi-Whip is great)
  • 1 Jar Maraschino Cherries
  • Colorful Straws
  • A Blender

Directions:

1. Cut the ice cream cones, removing the top from the bottom. Use a serrated knife for best results. Spread out cone bottoms on a tray and discard the tops (or crunch them up for the kids to sprinkle on their ice cream)

2. Pour Magic Shell into a small bowl. Add sprinkles to another small bowl.

3. Dip open end of the cone bottom into the Magic Shell and then into the Sprinkles. Set aside on the tray so it can dry.

4. Repeat step 3 for each cone.

5. Once all of them are dry, flip the cones over on the tray. Fill the bottom of each cone with a little more Magic Shell. This is for 2 reasons: To create a barrier for the liquid you’ll pour in later AND to create a nice chocolate surprise at the bottom for the person lucky enough to receive one of these!

6. Place tray in the refrigerator for at least 10 minutes. We piled ours into a tupperware first, so as not to knock them over in the fridge!

7. Right before you’re ready to serve, pile some Vanilla ice cream in your blender along with some Bailey’s. You judge the ratio. Want it strong? Add more Bailey’s!

8. Fill each cone with Bailey’s/Ice Cream mix to the rim.

9. Top with whipped cream and a cherry… then add a straw. (I pre-cut the straws so they’d be smaller)

10. Display on a plate or tray and serve immediately! Make a bunch… your guests will want more than one! Enjoy!
