Furry Friend: Featured Dog from Heart Animal Rescue & Adoption Team

Meet Xena

XENA is a female husky – black/white and about 15 months old.  Xena is now ready for adoption. She came to HEART with what was believed to be a luxated shoulder which was sd to need amputation, but after careful evaluation from an orthopedic specialist, it was determined that Xena has suffered permanent nerve damage in her left leg probably due to trauma. Xena is a very sweet dog who may have suffered some abuse in her short life. She is a little nervous around certain males, loud noises, and cars. Xena has made vast improvements with these things in her foster home but needs a new home with NO other pets. She enjoys long walks and has endless energy. Xena is currently learning basic commands in her foster home and responds well to treats and affection. This girl will be a loyal companion to a new owner who will give her the love and respect she deserves.

It’s summer…love is in the air, and in the streets and in the fields.  That’s what keeps producing those liters of stray kitties.  Foster homes are needed to enable HEART to keep rescuing all these unfortunate animals that come to our attention.  If you can provide a temporary home with loving care, please consider joining HEART’s foster team.
